We also believe your birthing experience should be personal, tailored to your needs and the needs of your baby. At Missouri Baptist, we strive to fulfill your special requests and offer various features to assist you throughout your labor and delivery, including:
- Warm Water Labor Pool (Immersion Hydrotherapy) – At your request, a portable labor pool can be brought into your private room. Experience buoyancy and freedom of movement as you spend your labor in the comfort of warm water. This is a popular option and must be reserved prior to delivery. Please note there is a $200 charge for this amenity, which unfortunately is not covered by most insurances. For more information or to reserve your labor pool, call (314) 996-5144.
- Birth Ball – An alternative to walking around or resting in bed. The birth ball helps relieve common discomfort during labor.
- Mobile Fetal Heart Monitoring – This convenient option allows mothers to walk around the Childbirth Center during labor to ease their pain. This feature is also waterproof and can be used in the shower or in our warm water labor pool.
- Doula-Friendly Environment – We gladly welcome doulas who our patients have selected to assist them with their labor.
- ‘Dining on Call’ Room Service – We offer an extensive menu with various options to choose from, including special dietary, kosher and vegetarian requests. Everything is fresh, made-to-order and available anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Selections are delivered to your room within 45 minutes.
- Nourishment Stations – Our convenient snack centers in the Childbirth Center provide popsicles, beverages and snacks to mothers and their partners.
