Hospital Birth
Our 5 Points of Difference

What makes us special? The following points are key things to know about the childbirth center at MoBap.

1. One Nurse For Mother and Baby

Ask anyone who has had their baby at MoBap, and they'll tell you. It's the extraordinary nursing care! We also believe that the best care comes when you and your baby share the same nurse. And since the baby rarely leaves your room, your nurse is able to dedicate her attention to both of you.

2. Anesthesia Guided By Need, Not By Number

If you choose to have an epidural, you’ll find that we’re ready to make you comfortable as soon as you need it.  And because there is always an anesthesiologist on-site in our department, you won’t have to wait in pain until that doctor arrives.

3. A Quiet and Comfortable Atmosphere

Take a tour of our department, and you’ll be struck by the peacefulness that is unique to the MoBap Childbirth Center. Many say that our carpeted floors and low noise level remind them more of home than a hospital. Our mother-baby rooms have also been designed with special consideration for our patients’ comfort and peace of mind.

4. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

MoBap is prepared to handle premature babies, high-risk newborns and multiple births with a staff of superior neonatologists from Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Read more about our NICU.

5. Our Affiliation With St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University Physicians

As a member of BJC HealthCare, we share an important connection with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the top pediatric hospitals in the U.S. Our staff includes St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University neonatologists and pediatricians, who are available around the clock and attend all high-risk or complicated deliveries, providing superior, quality care.

In addition, our hospital partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital in 2007 to create a full-sized children's emergency room, staffed with St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University pediatricians and our own specially-trained pediatric nurses.
