Infant Care and Breastfeeding Classes for New Parents

BREASTFEEDING BASICS
Discover the joys of breastfeeding with our breastfeeding class for expectant parents. Our three-hour Breastfeeding Basics class will equip you with valuable information and tips for a successful start to breastfeeding. The class will present methods of mother’s milk feeding including direct breastfeeding, bottle feeding of breast milk, pumping and mixed feeding. There will be discussion on how a mother prepares to return to work and pumping.

Partners are encouraged to attend!

Registration for a seat in this class is for two people. A support person is encouraged to attend, but please register mother only.

Fee: $35, one 3-hour session

CPR FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS
A video-guided program for parents, grandparents and teenagers who babysit (ages 10-15 if accompanied by an adult). Instruction and hands-on practice for infant, child and adult CPR, first aid for choking and the use of AEDs, when appropriate.

Fee: $25/person

HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK
In this 90-minute class based on the work of renowned pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp, parents will learn methods of calming and soothing their infants. Includes a parent kit - handouts, DVD and CD. Taught by Certified "Happiest Baby" educators. Perfect for both expectant parents and those with a newborn under 2 months of age.

Fee: $40, one 90-minute session

INFANT CARE CLASS
Caring for your newborn doesn’t have to be an overwhelming experience! Join us for a fun and interactive class to prepare you for caring for your baby.

One session. Fee $35

PRIMING THE PUMP
This two-hour class is designed for breastfeeding moms who are preparing to return to work and pumping. Topics will include pumping skills, milk storage, protecting your milk supply, and how weaning happens.

Babies and partners are welcome to attend.
